How I feel about it
Last year I met a woman I felt great being around.
Her bright smile and contagious laughter put me under her spell very early on.
When we were together, we couldn’t stop laughing and our eye contact was truly magical, like something taken straight out of a romance book. It was intimate, warm, and comforting from the beginning, which got us both hooked. We’d go out and just look at each other for hours while talking about the most random stuff we could think of.
We did a lot of touching and play fighting. With my love language being physical touch, I felt us getting closer with each day that passed. I dared more often and she kept inviting me in.
Soon enough, we were spending entire weekends in each other’s company. We’d come to my house to play board games, watch movies and take amorous risks.
Unfortunately, this didn’t last long. She wasn’t emotionally available and I’m one who values exclusivity. I will always be annoyed when the woman I’m with spends more time on her phone than with me.
The connection was there, but the timing was off.
Seeing how she was involved with someone else and she kept talking to other boys, I decided to put an end to it.
From time to time though, I would ask my friend how she’s doing and if she’s changed in any way. And to my surprise, I’ve only heard good things about her. Maybe I’m the reason she decided to change for the better.
I changed too. After all, I see things differently now. I think life is too short and it would be silly of me to throw everything away, because if I feel good in her presence why not do it more and let whatever happens, happen? No more forcing dates with strangers. No more forcing anything.
